Little do we know that the weeds growing in between the cement squares have greens that are very much edible. Take dandelions for instance. These babies have loads of vitamins A, B, C, and D! Including minerals such as iron, potassium, and zinc. They have beneficial antioxidant properties and they also build our body’s immune system. Who would have thought these pesky weeds would aid people with issues such as bone health, live disorders, diabetes, urinary disorders, skin cancer, acne, and much more!
Ingredients
1 bundle of horta (dandelions)
1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1-2 lemons (depends on taste preference)
Dash of salt (sea salt or himalayan pink salt)
Thoroughly wash the horta in a strainer, removing any dirt residue (although a little dirt won't hurt you!)
Steam or boil the greens in a medium-large pot for 30 minutes.
Place horta into a bowl. Add olive oil, lemoni (lemon), and salt. Toss and serve.
